Ouch! That hurts me ! My planet is suffering...
Lack of will from the industry, lack of courage from governments, legislation that is too weak and too permissive, lack of effective infrastructure, people don't care and lack appeal for products made from recycled plastics (often more expensive), deficient plans or business models, etc. Why are we polluting the planet more than ever with plastic waste? That we are allowing the situation to deteriorate? Certainly not for lack of sensitive information on the subject! 😡
Plastic recycling rates are declining in America while we produce more plastic waste than ever before (another blog post) . The reality for decades: industrialized countries exported their problems to many Asian countries... and there, some countries no longer accept them!
Quebec is not better! Despite the appearance of our beautiful blue bins and our infrastructure... a good part of the plastic will end up in landfill here or elsewhere in the world.
Are we ready as citizens to force governments to accelerate legislation to stop the slaughter on the environment, animals and humans?
Reducing consumption will not be enough. Billions of tons of plastic waste litter the land and end up in the ocean, the air... and micro plastics in animals, fish and our blood! (another blog article) .
